At PNC Park the San Francisco Giants easily handled the Pittsburgh Pirates by
the score of 5 to 1.

Pittsburgh never recovered after San Francisco took the lead in the 6th inning
when they tallied 2 runs on 3 hits. The big moment was provided by Ray
Durham who disappointed the partisan crowd when he blasted a two-run home run
(his 2nd of the season). The teams had been locked in a scoreless duel until
the 6th inning.

Matt Cain(2-1) got credit for the victory, pitching 8 and 1/3 innings and
allowing 1 run. Cain got relief help from Patrick Misch who gained credit for
his 1st save. Paul Maholm(2-2) was hit with the loss. He pitched 7 innings
giving up 8 hits and no walks.
