Mike Leake pitched 9 strong innings at PNC Park where the Cincinnati Reds beat
the Pittsburgh Pirates by the score of 3 to 1.

Cincinnati had the winning rally in the 8th inning scoring 2 runs. Leake led
off the inning for Cincinnati when he reached on an error. One out later,
Brandon Phillips was next to bat, but he was a strikeout victim. Joey Votto
then blasted a two-run home run. Cincinnati had only 5 hits for the
afternoon.

Leake(1-1) was the winner allowing 1 run for the game. Evan Meek(1-1) was
tagged with the loss in relief. He was pinned with the loss despite not
allowing an earned run in his 2 innings of work.
