Johnny Cueto struck out 11 batters as the Cincinnati Reds outscored the
Washington Nationals 3 to 2.

Cueto(3-1) dominated Washington hitters. He surrendered only 3 hits and 2
walks in 8 innings seeing his ERA drop from 5.40 to 4.60. Washington had a
chance to come back in the 9th but they came up short.

Francisco Cordero earned the save, his 4th. Odalis Perez(1-5) was hit with
the loss. He gave up just 3 runs and 5 hits in 8 innings.

Cueto was asked about his big strikeout performance, 'Well, it's a little odd
when you rack up these numbers on the road - instead of cheers and a running
tally in the stands, everything gets real still and quiet. Just strange -
but it's nice to be able to take the crowd out of the game.'
