The Minnesota Twins nipped the Baltimore Orioles in 14 innings 3 to 2 at
Metrodome in a hard fought contest.

The score was knotted at 2 after nine innings. Minnesota came out on top in
the 14th inning. Jason Kubel drew a walk. Two outs later Dennis Sarfate
stepped in and he let one slip out of his hand for a wild pitch. Carlos
Gomez then was walked intentionally. Alexi Casilla stepped in and he drew a
walk to load the bases. Joe Mauer came to the plate and drew a walk
resulting in an exciting win for Minnesota and a raucous post-game
celebration by the home town fans. Minnesota had 10 hits for the afternoon.

Boof Bonser(1-0) went 1 and 2/3 innings allowing no runs for the win.
Sarfate(0-1) ended up with the loss in relief. With this win, Minnesota has
a 7-5 record. They have been 7-3 lately. Baltimore has a record of 4-6
after the loss.
