Max Scherzer took a no-hitter into the 7th inning at Chase Field where the
Arizona ballclub beat the Houston Astros by the score of 1 to
0.

Scherzer(1-0) pitched one of his finer games as he simply was too much for the
Houston batters. He gave up just 2 hits and 3 walks in 8 innings. Scherzer
chalked up 9 strikeouts. The right-handed Scherzer lost his no-hit bid when
Carlos Lee singled with nobody out in the 7th inning. Arizona had 7 hits
overall, while Houston had 2.

Chad Qualls gained credit for his 1st save. Wandy Rodriguez(0-1) was tagged
with the loss. He gave up just 1 run and 5 hits in 7 innings.
