John Lannan allowed only 2 hits resulting in a big goose egg on the scoreboard
for Florida as the Washington Nationals defeated the Florida Marlins by a
score of 5 to 0 at Land Shark Stadium.

Lannan(1-1) was on top of his game. He allowed only 2 hits and no walks in 9
innings lowering his ERA from 6.00 to 2.40. Neither team managed to score
after the 4th inning.

Ricky Nolasco(0-1) was the loser. Washington scored big getting 5 runs off
him in 3 innings. 'Lannan was the man today,' Lee Michaels said. 'He had
just about every pitch working.'
