Ryan Braun launched 2 homeruns and scored 3 times and Shaun Marcum had a
strong outing at Miller Park where the Milwaukee Brewers beat the Colorado
Rockies by the score of 8 to 1.

The home town fans were very appreciative of the fine hitting performance
provided by Braun. He ripped a solo home run in the 1st inning, laced a
base-knock in the 6th inning and clubbed a solo home run in the 7th inning.
Milwaukee had 13 hits for the afternoon.

Marcum(2-1), allowing 1 run for the game, picked up the victory. Aaron
Cook(0-1) suffered the loss. He served up 3 gopher balls in 6 and 1/3
innings.

'Marcum gave us exactly what we needed today.' Andy Virostek said. 'When he
threw the fastball he threw it for strikes. They were really fooled by his
change. Most of the time he had them chasing it.'
