32,906 fans watched an exciting game at Nationals Park. The Washington
Nationals topped the Los Angeles(NL) Dodgers by the slimmest of margins, 4 to
3.

Washington brought 2 runs across the plate in the 6th inning. Los Angeles(NL)
made it exciting in the 9th, but they were unable to push the needed runs
across.

Todd Coffey(1-0) got the win allowing no runs in 1 and 1/3 innings. Coffey got
help from Drew Storen who was credited with his 2nd save. Hiroki Kuroda(1-1)
ended up with the loss.

Lee Michaels was in a talkative mood in the clubhouse, 'Great game! If only we
could win all of the close ones - wouldn't that be nice! Since that's not
going to happen, I think I'll savor this one for a little while.'
