Jonathon Niese tossed a complete game and Jose Reyes had 2 base hits and 5 RBI
as the New York (NL) Mets outscored the Pittsburgh Pirates 11 to 2.

Reyes had a big day at the plate. He tripled with all three runners coming
home in the 4th inning and slapped a one-base hit bringing in a run in the
8th inning. New York (NL) banged out 12 hits on the afternoon.

The win was credited to Niese(1-0) who went the whole way allowing 2 runs.
Ross Ohlendorf(0-1) was the losing pitcher. He was knocked around by New
York (NL), allowing 9 hits and 2 walks in 4 innings.
