The Minnesota Twins nipped the Oakland A's 4 to 3 at Target Field in a hard
fought contest.

Oakland was unable to recover after Minnesota went ahead in the bottom of the
7th inning scoring a single run on 2 base hits. Alexi Casilla lined a
base-hit. Casilla stole second with some aggressive base running. Jamey
Carroll then slapped a single. Denard Span was up next and he drew a walk to
load the bases. After an out was recorded, Joe Mauer came to bat and reached
on an error. One out later, Justin Morneau followed, but he was set down on
strikes. Oakland threatened in the 9th but their rally came up short.

Glen Perkins(1-2) was the winner allowing no runs in 2 innings. Matt Capps
preserved the game for Perkins, recording his his 2nd save. The losing
pitcher was Ryan Cook(2-1) in relief.
