In a great finish the San Diego Padres came back in the top of the ninth and
held on to win over the Cincinnati Reds by a score of 7 to 5 at Great
American Bpk.

San Diego won the game with a rally in the top of the 9th inning when they
scored 4 runs on 4 hits. The critical plate appearance was by Jedd Gyorko
who deflated the spirits of the home town crowd when he smacked a three-run
homer. San Diego finished with 11 hits in the victory.

The win was credited to Brad Brach(1-0) who went 2 and 2/3 innings allowing no
runs. Huston Street earned his 4th save. Aroldis Chapman(0-1) absorbed the
loss in relief. He pitched 1 inning allowing 3 hits and 1 walk.

After the game, it took a long while before Chris Couch emerged from his
office. In a subdued tone he answered only a couple of questions. He
concluded with, 'Fellows, sorry I'm not in a very talkative mood this
afternoon, as I think you'll understand. I'm sure you'll find the banter a
lot more light-hearted over in the San Diego locker room.'
