Right fielder Nelson Cruz had 2 base hits and 2 RBI as the Texas Rangers
defeated the Tampa Bay Rays by a score of 2 to 1 at Tropicana Field.
 
Texas scored 2 runs in the 5th inning with the help of 3 hits.  The crucial
at-bat was provided by Cruz who deflated the crowd as he doubled plating two
runs.  Joe Nathan relieved and was untouched by Tampa Bay as he recorded the
save, his 4th.  
 
The victory went to Martin Perez(2-0) who went 6 and 2/3 innings, allowing no
