It was a great finish at Camden Yards as the Baltimore Orioles pulled off a
dramatic comeback beating the Boston Redsox by the count of 5 to
4.
Baltimore erupted with the game winning runs in the bottom of the 9th inning
with 2 runs using 3 hits. After an out was recorded, Derrek Lee began the
rally when he doubled. One out later, Ryan Adams came to bat and delivered a
base-hit. Adams took second on the throw. Adam Jones then hit a single.
Jones took second on the throw. Baltimore had a total of 10 hits for the
game.
The win went to Troy Patton(1-0) who allowed no runs in 2 innings. Matt
Albers(0-1) ended up with the loss in relief. 'Wow, that was fun!', Patton
said following the game. 'Once in a while you play a game that reminds you
just why you got into this business to begin with!'

In a dramatic ending at Fenway Park the Boston Redsox won in their last at-bat
beating the Chicago (AL) Whitesox by the count of 4 to 3.
The game was won by Boston when they scored a run in the 9th inning. David
Ortiz blasted a solo shot making Boston victorious to the delight of the the
home town crowd. Boston and Chicago (AL) each finished the afternoon with 12
hits.

runs. Chris Sale(0-3) took the loss in relief. The Boston ballclub's record
now stands at 9-8. Chicago (AL) can't seem to snap out of their recent

In a game for the baseball purist, Justin Verlander(3-1) and Jered Weaver(1-2)
squared off in a tense pitching duel, Detroit Tigers finally emerged
victorious over Los Angeles(AL) Angels, 1 to 0.
Los Angeles(AL) fell behind quickly as the Detroit offense came through in the
first inning scoring one runner utilizing 2 base hits. That early run
support was all that Verlander required. Verlander got help from Jose

At SAFECO Field, the Seattle fans witnessed a great pitcher's duel. Michael
Pineda(2-1) finally bested his Toronto opposite, Brett Cecil(1-3), by the
score of 3 to 1.
Toronto was unable to climb back into it after Seattle went ahead for good in
the bottom of the 6th inning scoring a single run. The Toronto bats were
silent in the 9th.
Brandon League recorded the save, his 2nd. Cecil was the loser. He gave up 3
runs and 4 hits in 7 and 1/3 innings.

Josh Willingham went deep and had 2 RBI at O.co Coliseum where the Oakland A's
beat the Kansas City Royals in 10 innings by the score of 4 to 3.
Both teams had scored 3 runs after nine full innings. Finally, Oakland
prevailed in the 10th inning. Cliff Pennington drew a walk. Jemile Weeks
next to the plate and he lined a single. Coco Crisp then ripped a one-base
hit making Oakland the victors to the delight of the home town faithful.
Although they lost, Kansas City did out-hit Oakland 10 to 7.
The win was credited to Brian Fuentes(1-0) who went 3 innings allowing no
runs. Tim Collins(0-1) suffered the loss in relief. He pitched 2 and 1/3

One run was the difference at Yankee Stadium as the New York (AL) Yankees
defeated the Houston Astros 3 to 2.
The deciding run was scored by New York (AL) in the bottom of the 8th. Brett
Gardner lined a base-hit. Gardner then stole second base. Two outs later
Mark Teixeira came up and he slapped a single. Alex Rodriguez struck out,
unable to help the rally. Despite losing, Houston out-hit New York (AL) 10
to 6.
C.C. Sabathia(2-2) got credit for the victory, pitching 8 innings and allowing
2 runs. Mariano Rivera was credited with his 4th save. The losing pitcher
was J.A. Happ(3-1).
