Carlos Delgado hit a homerun and had 2 RBI as the Florida Marlins outscored
the Pittsburgh Pirates 8 to 4.

Ron Villone(1-0) was brilliant in relief and registered the victory. He
allowed only 1 hit and 1 walk in 3 and 1/3 innings lowering his ERA from 7.71
to 3.18. Florida finished with 12 hits while Pittsburgh ended up with 9.

Villone got help from Nate Bump who earned his 1st save. Kip Wells(0-1) was
the loser. He was hit hard and gave up 10 hits and 4 walks in 7 innings.
