Chase Utley smacked 2 homeruns and had 3 RBI as the Philadelphia Phillies
defeated the Washington Nationals in 11 innings by a score of 5 to 4 at
Citizen's Bank Park.

The game was deadlocked at 4 after nine full innings. Philadelphia came out on
top in the 11th inning. Utley ripped a solo home run (his 5th of the season)
resulting in an exciting win for Philadelphia and a wild post-game
celebration by the home town fans. Philadelphia ended up with 16 hits for
the game while Washington had 10.

The victory went to Ryan Madson(1-0) who went 1 inning, allowing no runs. Chad
Cordero(0-1) absorbed the loss in relief. He allowed 1 run and 1 hit without
retiring a batter.
