First baseman Todd Helton launched 3 homeruns and had 5 RBI at Coors Field as
the Colorado Rockies beat the Pittsburgh Pirates 8 to 5.

Helton was really 'in the zone'. He smashed a two-run homer in the 1st
inning, cleared the fences for a two-run home run in the 3rd inning, smashed
a solo-shot out of the park (his 3rd of the season) in the 4th inning and
lined a base-hit in the 6th inning. Pittsburgh threatened in the 9th but
Colorado was able to put down the rally.

The winning pitcher was Jamey Wright(2-3) who allowed 2 runs in 6 innings.
Josh Fogg(2-1) was charged with the loss. He served up 4 gopher balls in 6
innings.

Helton was in a good mood after the game, 'I'm just seeing and hitting the
ball real well now. I made some adjustments last week and they are paying
off. That's what this game is about. making adjustments as the season goes
along.'
