First baseman Darin Erstad went yard and had 3 RBI as the Los Angeles(AL)
Angels defeated the Chicago (AL) Whitesox by the score of 5 to 2 at US
Cellular Field.

Los Angeles(AL) had the game winning rally in the top of the 8th inning with 3
runs on 2 hits. After two outs Adam Kennedy initiated the scoring spurt when
he drew a walk. Kennedy got a good lead and stole second. Chone Figgins
then delivered a single driving in a run. Erstad was up next and he smashed
a two-run homer (his 2nd of the season). Overall Los Angeles(AL) out-hit
Chicago (AL) 9 to 6.

The victory went to Kelvim Escobar(2-0) who went 2 and 2/3 innings, allowing
no runs. Scot Shields gained credit for his 1st save. Brandon McCarthy(1-1)
took the loss in relief. He was knocked around, surrendering 3 runs in 2 and
2/3 innings.
