Jon Lester carried a no-hitter into the 6th inning as the Boston Redsox
outscored the Minnesota Twins 6 to 5.

Lester(3-2) pitched a fine game. He went 6 and 1/3 innings surrendering 4
hits and 4 walks. Lester whiffed an impressive total of 8 Minnesota batters.
The left-handed Lester lost his chance for a no-hitter when Alexi Casilla
singled with nobody out in the 6th inning. Minnesota had a chance in the 9th
but they came up short.

Lester was helped out by Jonathan Papelbon who recorded his 3rd save. Scott
Baker(2-2) took the loss. 'You have to give Minnesota credit, they fought us
tough to the end' Terry Francona said. 'It could have gone either way, but
I'm glad we pulled out the victory.'
