Jeremy Hellickson threw a 1 hit shutout at McAfee Coliseum as the Tampa Bay
Rays beat the Oakland A's by the count of 3 to 0.

Hellickson(1-0) was on top of his game. He was stingy on the mound, allowing
just 1 hit and no walks in 9 innings. The Oakland offense proved no trouble
in the bottom of the 9th.

Gio Gonzalez(0-2) took the loss. He allowed 6 hits and 5 walks in 6 innings.
'All of my pitches were working tonight,' Hellickson said. 'I felt really
good out there, and heck, I think I could have gone longer.'
