Second baseman Orlando Hudson had 2 base hits at Target Field as the Minnesota
Twins beat the Texas Rangers 4 to 3.

Minnesota scored 2 runs in the decisive bottom of the 3rd inning with the help
of 4 hits. The critical plate appearance was by Justin Morneau who made the
home-town crowd a happy bunch when he laced a base-knock bringing home two
baserunners. Texas was retired without difficulty in the 9th.

Carl Pavano(1-0) got credit for the victory, pitching 6 and 1/3 innings and
allowing 1 run. Pavano got relief help from Brian Fuentes who gained credit
for his 2nd save. Tommy Hunter(0-1) was the losing pitcher. He pitched 4
and 1/3 innings giving up 5 hits and 1 walk.
