The San Francisco Giants topped the Atlanta Braves by the slimmest of margins, 3 to 2. The game was won by San Francisco when they scored a run in the top of the 9th inning. After two outs Brandon Belt tripled. Jordan Walden then was wild with a pitch. Both teams finished the game with 5 hits. The win was credited to Santiago Casilla(1-0) who went 1 inning allowing no runs. Sergio Romo earned the save, his 1st. The loss was charged to Luis Avilan(1-1) in relief. He gave up 1 run and 1 hit in 1 and 2/3 innings.
