Tim Lincecum retired 11 batters on strikeouts and Hunter Pence had 4 hits and
5 RBI at AT&T Park where the San Francisco Giants beat the St. Louis
Cardinals by the score of 11 to 2.

The home town fans were very appreciative of the fine hitting performance
provided by Pence. He doubled bringing in a run in the 1st inning, delivered
a one-base hit in the 3rd inning, doubled which was good for two runs in the
5th inning and tripled scoring two baserunners in the 7th inning. San
Francisco totaled 15 hits on the afternoon.

The victory went to Lincecum(2-1) who went the distance allowing 2 runs. Jaime
Garcia(0-1) absorbed the loss. He was touched for 11 hits and 2 walks in 6
innings.

Lincecum was jubilant in the hometown clubhouse, 'It was a lot of fun out
there. The fans gave me a lot of support as did my teammates. We got the
victory and I'll sure take 11 strikeouts anytime!'
