Joe McEwing had 4 hits and 5 RBI as the Kansas City Royals topped the Texas
Rangers by a score of 12 to 4 at Ameriquest Field.

McEwing was a thorn in the side of the hometown fans as he enjoyed a fine day
at their team's expense. He lofted a three-run bomb (his 1st of the season)
in the 2nd inning, banged out a single knocking in a run in the 4th inning,
lashed a one-base hit in the 6th inning and doubled which scored a run in the
7th inning. Kansas City ended up with 15 hits for the game while Texas had
11.

Zack Greinke(1-0) went 6 and 1/3 innings allowing 4 runs for the victory.
Kenny Rogers(0-1) ended up with the loss. He was unable to control the
Kansas City offense and allowed 10 hits and 2 walks in 6 innings.
