In a two run game the Cincinnati Reds got by the Los Angeles(NL) Dodgers by
the score of 3 to 1.
Los Angeles(NL) surrendered all of the runs Cincinnati needed in the 8th
inning with 3 runs on 3 base hits. After an out was recorded, Jay Bruce
keyed the rally when he smacked a single. After another out, Joey Votto came
to bat and drew a walk. Kenley Jansen then uncorked a wild pitch. Todd
Frazier was up next and he belted a three-run homer. Chris Heisey stepped
into the box and laced a base-hit. The Los Angeles(NL) bats were silent in
the bottom of the 9th.
The win was credited to Sam Lecure(1-0) who went 1 and 2/3 innings allowing no
runs. Aroldis Chapman got the save, his 2nd. Jansen(1-1) was charged with
the loss in relief. His ERA increased from 1.04 to 2.70 as he allowed 2 runs
in 1 and 1/3 innings.
