In a good matchup it was the Detroit Tigers 8, the Los Angeles(NL) Dodgers 6
at Comerica Park.
 
Detroit won the game with a rally in the 8th inning with 2 runs on 2 hits.
After an out was recorded, Quintin Berry started the attack as he drew a
walk.  Ramon Santiago followed next and he blasted a two-run home run.  After
another out, Andy Dirks then lined a single.  Detroit finished with 15 hits
while Los Angeles(NL) ended up with 10.  
 
Joaquin Benoit(1-0) got credit for the victory, pitching 1 and 2/3 innings and
allowing no runs. Phil Coke recorded the save, his 1st.  Kenley Jansen(0-1)
was the loser in relief.
