Rafael Palmeiro jacked one out of the ballyard and had 4 RBI as the Baltimore
Orioles defeated the Boston Redsox by a score of 5 to 2 at Camden
Yards.

Boston fell behind quickly as the Baltimore offense came through in the first
inning scoring 2 runners on 2 hits. The key offensive moment was provided by
Palmeiro who made the Baltimore fans a happy lot when he bombed a two-run
dinger (his 3rd of the season). Baltimore banged out 9 hits on the
afternoon.

The win went to Erik Bedard(1-0) who allowed 1 run in 6 and 2/3 innings.
Bedard got relief help from B.J. Ryan who gained credit for his 3rd save.
Matt Clement(1-1) was the loser. He surrendered 5 runs and 7 hits in 6 and
2/3 innings.
