Ervin Santana racked up an impressive total of 10 strikeouts and Juan Rivera
had 2 base hits as the Los Angeles(AL) Angels defeated the Texas Rangers by
the score of 4 to 3 at Angels Stadium.

Santana(1-0) pitched a fine game. He went 8 innings surrendering 8 hits and 3
walks. Texas had a chance to come back in the 9th but they came up short.

Santana got help from Francisco Rodriguez who earned his 1st save. The loss
was charged to Doug Brocail(0-1) in relief. 'Everything felt great' Santana
said. 'I had a good fastball, I felt I could throw it by everybody today.'
