Josh Johnson took a no-hitter into the 6th inning and third baseman Jorge
Cantu slammed a homerun as the Florida Marlins defeated the Atlanta Braves by
the score of 3 to 0 at Turner Field.

Johnson(1-3) dominated Atlanta hitters. He gave up just 3 hits and 3 walks in
8 innings. Johnson recorded 11 strikeouts seeing his ERA drop from 6.43 to
4.66. The right-handed Johnson lost his chance for a no-hitter when Jorge
Campillo singled with one out in the 6th inning. Atlanta was out-hit by
Florida, 12 hits to 3.

Joe Nelson was credited with his 1st save. Campillo(3-2) ended up with the
loss. He gave up 10 hits and no walks in 6 innings.

Johnson didn't realize how many strikeouts he was racking up. When told he
had 11 he was obviously surprised, 'No kidding? Man, I knew that I had a
decent total, but I didn't think I had K'd that many. Say, that's pretty
good, isn't it?'
