First baseman Jorge Cantu hit 2 doubles and had 3 RBI at Minute Maid Park as
the Florida Marlins beat the Houston Astros by the count of 8 to 7.

Florida jumped out to the early lead in the first inning scoring 3 runs on 3
hits. Hanley Ramirez led off and started the rally when he slapped a single.
After an out was recorded, Cantu came up and he drew a walk. Cody Ross got
his turn next, but he was a strikeout victim. Brett Carroll followed and he
singled. Ronny Paulino came to the plate and doubled. Houston threatened in
the 9th but Florida was able to put down the rally.

Josh Johnson(5-0) went 5 and 2/3 innings allowing 4 runs for the win. Dan
Meyer got the save, his 4th. Mike Hampton(0-4) was the loser. He allowed a
few too many baserunners giving up 9 hits and 3 walks in 6 and 1/3 innings.

Andy Virostek was in a talkative mood in the clubhouse, 'Great game! If only
we could win all of the close ones - wouldn't that be nice! Since that's not
going to happen, I think I'll savor this one for a little while.'
