Third baseman Ryan Zimmerman had 3 base hits and 3 RBI as the Washington
Nationals topped the New York (NL) Mets by a score of 7 to 3 at Citi
Field.

Washington came up with 4 runs in the top of the 5th inning with the help of 5
hits. The key offensive moment was provided by Zimmerman who silenced Citi
Field as he laced a base-hit plating two runs. For the game Washington
out-hit New York (NL) 12 to 8.

John Lannan(2-5) got the win allowing 3 runs in 5 and 1/3 innings. Jason
Bergmann recorded his 1st save. Tim Redding(0-2) ended up with the loss. He
was not very effective, surrendering 5 runs in 4 and 1/3 innings.
