Florida claimed the early lead in the first inning when they scored 4 runs on
5 hits. The big moment was provided by Cody Ross who quieted the crowd when
he belted a three-run homer. Florida finished with 18 hits while Washington
ended up with 12.

The victory went to Burke Badenhop(2-0) who went 2 innings, allowing no runs.
John Lannan(2-6) was the loser. He allowed Florida 6 runs in 5 and 1/3
innings of work.
