Omar Infante had 2 base hits and 3 RBI and Anibal Sanchez whiffed 10 batters
at Marlins Park where the Miami Marlins beat the slumping Chicago (NL) Cubs 5
to 2.
 
Sanchez(1-0) was in control of the game from the outset.  He didn't allow
much, just 6 hits and 3 walks in 9 innings.  Miami banged out 7 hits on the
afternoon.  
 
Jeff Samardzija(0-2) suffered the loss.  The Miami fans were thrilled by the
performance put forth by Sanchez, but it was clearly his strikeouts that they
enjoyed most. 'When he reached 10 strikeouts the fans showed him their
appreciation with a loud cheer.' Ozzie Guillen said following the game.
