Yadier Molina cracked 2 homeruns and had 5 RBI as the St. Louis Cardinals
bested the New York (NL) Mets in 10 innings 6 to 4 at Citi Field.

Both teams were tied at 4 runs apiece after nine innings. St. Louis came out
on top in the 10th inning. Jon Jay led off and started the rally when he
laced a single. Molina stepped into the batter's box and he bombed a two-run
dinger. After an out was recorded, Allen Craig then singled. Carlos Beltran
dug into the batters box next, but he struck out. Skip Schumaker got his
turn next, but he was a strikeout victim. St. Louis finished with 12 hits
while New York (NL) ended up with 8.

Mitchell Boggs(1-0) picked up the victory, allowing no runs in 1 and 1/3
innings. Jason Motte was credited with his 2nd save. Bobby Parnell(0-1) was
tagged with the loss in relief.

'It's almost like the ball was trying to hit my bat,' Molina said. 'Whenever I
would swing, the ball found the sweet spot.'
