Matt Cain completed the game without help from the bullpen and Buster Posey
hit one over the fence and had 2 RBI as the San Francisco Giants bested the
New York (NL) Mets 6 to 2 at Citi Field.
San Francisco scored 4 runs in the 6th inning when they had 5 base hits. The
biggest moment was provided by Brandon Belt who quieted the crowd when he
popped a two-run clout over the fence. San Francisco had 15 hits for the
afternoon.
The win was credited to Cain(1-0) who went the whole way allowing 2 runs. Jon
Niese(0-1) absorbed the loss. He surrendered 4 runs and 11 hits in 6 and 1/3
innings.
