The Oakland A's edged the Baltimore Orioles in 11 innings at Camden Yards by
the score of 5 to 4.
 
The game was deadlocked at 4 after nine full innings. Oakland won the hard
fought contest in the 11th inning.  After two outs Chris Carter clubbed a
solo home run.  Derek Norris stepped into the batter's box and he lined a
base-hit.  Cliff Pennington got his turn next, but he was a strikeout victim.
Baltimore was retired without difficulty in the bottom of the 11th.  
 
The win was credited to Ryan Cook(1-0) who went 2 innings allowing no runs.
Grant Balfour recorded the save, his 2nd.  Steve Johnson(0-1) was hit with
the loss in relief.
