Bruce Chen whiffed 10 batters as the Kansas City Royals topped the Toronto
Bluejays in 11 innings by a score of 2 to 1 at Kauffman Stadium.
 
Both teams were tied at 1 runs apiece after nine innings.  Kansas City came
out on top in the 11th inning.  After an out was recorded, Billy Butler
ripped a solo home run resulting in an exciting win for Kansas City and a
raucous post-game celebration by the home town fans.  Toronto had 13 hits in
the game while Kansas City had 8, but Kansas City had the more timely hits.
 
The victory was credited to Jonathan Broxton(1-0) who went 1 and 1/3 innings,
allowing no runs. Darren Oliver(0-1) suffered the loss in relief.
