Chad Billingsley went 9 strong innings and right fielder Andre Ethier homered
and had 2 RBI at Dodger Stadium where the Los Angeles(NL) Dodgers beat the
St. Louis Cardinals 9 to 1.

Los Angeles(NL) set the tone of the game in the first inning scoring one
runner utilizing 2 base hits. Matt Kemp slapped a base-hit. Ethier came
next and he singled. Juan Pierre then reached on an error. One out later,
James Loney got his chance to keep things going, but he went down on strikes.
Russell Martin stepped into the box and drew a walk to load the bases. Los
Angeles(NL) totaled 13 hits on the afternoon.

Billingsley(4-0) finished the game allowing 1 run in the victory. Joel
Pineiro(1-1) ended up with the loss. He was hit hard and gave up 9 hits and
3 walks in 4 innings.

John DePanicis was very impressed with his pitcher, Billingsley, 'He had
unusually good pitch placement this afternoon. It was almost unfair - but a
beautiful game to watch from where I sat'
