Franklin Gutierrez had 3 base hits and 2 RBI as the Seattle Mariners defeated
the Texas Rangers in 10 innings by the score of 3 to 2 at Rangers
Ballpark.
 
Both teams had scored 2 runs after nine full innings.  Seattle ended up
winning it in the 10th inning.  After an out was recorded, Ichiro Suzuki
smacked a single, and an error was also committed.  Gutierrez followed and he
laced a one-base hit.  Kyle Seager then lined a single.  Jesus Montero
followed next and he stroked a base-hit to load the bases.  Seattle and Texas
each finished the afternoon with 10 hits.  
 
Tom Wilhelmsen(1-0) got credit for the victory, pitching 1 and 2/3 innings and
allowing no runs. Shawn Kelley gained credit for his 1st save.  Alexi
Ogando(1-2) was hit with the loss in relief.
