One run was the difference at AT&T Park as the San Francisco Giants defeated
the San Diego Padres 4 to 3.

San Francisco scored 3 runs in the decisive bottom of the 6th inning. The key
at-bat was by Hunter Pence who thrilled the crowd when he rifled a three-run
blast. San Diego tried unsuccessfully to come back in the 9th.

The winning pitcher was Tim Lincecum(4-1) who allowed 2 runs in 7 innings.
Sergio Romo gained credit for his 3rd save. Jason Marquis(0-2) was hit with
the loss.

'We lose our concentration for one pitch, and we lose the game.' Kimon
Michaels said after the game. 'Maybe now these guys will listen when I say
they have to concentrate on EVERY pitch.'
