Center fielder Curtis Granderson launched 2 homeruns and had 3 RBI at US
Cellular Field as the Detroit Tigers beat the Chicago (AL) Whitesox by the
count of 9 to 2.

Granderson had a big day against Chicago (AL). He singled in the 1st inning,
lofted a solo-blast 'downtown' in the 3rd inning, doubled plating a run in
the 5th inning and ripped a solo home run (his 5th of the season) in the 7th
inning. Detroit finished with 13 hits while Chicago (AL) ended up with 7.

The win went to Kenny Rogers(1-4) who allowed 1 run in 7 and 2/3 innings. The
loss was charged to Javier Vazquez(2-5). Despite taking the loss, he whiffed

'It's almost like the ball was trying to hit my bat,' Granderson said.
'Whenever I would swing, the ball found the sweet spot.'
