Center fielder Corey Patterson had 2 base hits and 2 RBI at Minute Maid Field
as the Chicago (NL) Cubs beat the Houston Astros in 10 innings by the count
of 5 to 4.

The score was tied at 4 after nine. Chicago (NL) came out on top in the 10th
inning. After an out was recorded, Jeromy Burnitz stroked a one-base hit.
John Thomas then called for a steal which was successful. Jose Macias struck
out, unable to help the rally. Matt Murton came up and he drew a walk.
Patterson stepped into the box and hit a single scoring the run. Chicago
(NL) managed 10 in their victory.

Ryan Dempster(2-1) got credit for the victory, pitching 2 innings and allowing
2 runs. Dempster got relief help from Mike Wuertz who gained credit for his
1st save. Brad Lidge(5-3) suffered the loss in relief.
