Mike Napoli left the yard and John Lackey delivered 9 solid innings at
Ameriquest Field where the blistering-hot Los Angeles(AL) Angels beat the
Texas Rangers 8 to 1.

Los Angeles(AL) took the lead off Dustin Nippert in the first inning scoring 3
runs using 2 hits. Chone Figgins led off and he was hit by a pitch. Erick
Aybar followed and he laid down a sacrifice bunt. Mark Teixeira then was
walked intentionally. Vladimir Guerrero was up next and he lost the ball
over the fence for three runs (his 9th of the season). Napoli was a
strikeout victim, unable to help out. Torii Hunter continued the rally and
smacked a single. That was all Lackey(4-1) needed. Los Angeles(AL) had a
total of 12 hits for the game.

Nippert(0-1) was hit with the loss. He pitched 1 inning and surrendered 2
hits and 3 walks.
