WEB GEMS- Top 3rd: Franklin Gutierrez robbed Jason Giambi of a Homerun!

Center fielder Melky Cabrera jacked one out of the ballyard and had 3 RBI and
Joba Chamberlain struck out 15 batters at Progressive Field as the New York
(AL) Yankees, running on all cylinders, ripped the Cleveland Indians by a
large 19 to 3 margin.

Cabrera had a big day against Cleveland. He smashed a two-run homer (his 1st
of the season) in the 5th inning, tripled which scored a run in the 7th
inning and banged out a single in the 8th inning. New York (AL) provided
plenty of action in the 5th inning with 8 runs on 9 hits. New York (AL) had
22 hits for the night.

The win was credited to Chamberlain(3-0) who went the whole way allowing 3
runs. Fausto Carmona(2-3) absorbed the loss. Chamberlain didn't realize how
many strikeouts he was racking up. When told he had 15 he was obviously
surprised, 'No kidding? Man, I knew that I had a decent total, but I didn't
think I had K'd that many. Say, that's pretty good, isn't it?'
