Carlos Gomez had 2 base hits at Comerica Park as the Minnesota Twins beat the
Detroit Tigers 2 to 1.

Minnesota had 2 runs cross the plate in the top of the 2nd inning. That was
all the offense they were to need. The pitchers took over after the 4th
inning as neither team was able to score again.

Glen Perkins(2-1) was the winner allowing 1 run in 5 innings. Perkins got help
from Joe Nathan who was credited with his 15th save. Justin Verlander(2-3)
absorbed the loss.
