Third baseman Jose Lopez ripped a bases loaded blast and Felix Hernandez
pitched 9 strong innings at McAfee Coliseum as the Seattle Mariners, running
on all cylinders, ripped the Oakland A's by a large 11 to 0 margin.

Lopez provided much of the offense. He doubled in the 2nd inning, doubled
resulting in a run in the 3rd inning and emptied the bases with a Grand Slam
homerun in the 6th inning. Seattle banged out 11 hits on the afternoon.

Hernandez(5-3) was credited with the shutout. Ben Sheets(2-5) absorbed the
loss. He was hit hard and gave up 8 hits and 2 walks in 4 and 2/3 innings.

'I didn't feel that good when I came to the park today,' Lopez said. 'I'm
glad I decided to play!'
