Jordy Mercer hit 2 doubles and had 3 RBI at PNC Park where the Pittsburgh
Pirates beat the Atlanta Braves 6 to 0.
 
Atlanta was unable to climb back into it after Pittsburgh went ahead for good
in the bottom of the 3rd inning as they scored 2 runs on 3 base hits.  That
early run support was enough for Jeff Locke(3-1) and Pittsburgh.  Pittsburgh
and Atlanta each finished the afternoon with 7 hits.  
 
Paul Maholm(1-3) was given the loss.  He gave up 6 hits and 2 walks in 5 and
1/3 innings.
