48,261 fans were treated to a fine game at Chase Field as only one run
separated the combatants at game's end.  The Cincinnati Reds won by the
slimmest of margins, 3 to 2.
 
Cincinnati scored all of the necessary runs in the 6th inning when they came
up with 3 runs on 2 hits.  The key offensive moment was provided by Brandon
Phillips who helped quiet the crowd when he rifled a three-run blast.
Cincinnati had just 5 hits for the afternoon.  
 
Homer Bailey(1-0) got credit for the victory, pitching 7 and 1/3 innings and
allowing 2 runs. Aroldis Chapman earned the save, his 6th.  Trevor
Cahill(1-4) suffered the loss.  He allowed 3 runs and 4 hits in 5 and 1/3
innings.
