Jason Heyward slammed a homerun and had 4 RBI and Kris Medlen allowed Fredi
Gonzalez to rest his bullpen, tossing a complete game at Turner Field where
the Atlanta Braves beat the Pittsburgh Pirates by the score of 5 to 1.
 
The home town fans were very appreciative of the fine hitting performance
provided by Heyward.  He cracked a two-run shot in the 1st inning and doubled
plating two runs in the 6th inning.  Atlanta rapped out 12 hits for the
afternoon.  
 
Medlen(5-0) lasted until the end allowing 1 run for the win. Francisco
Liriano(0-5) was tagged with the loss.  With this win, Atlanta has a division
leading 14-8 record.  They have been 7-3 lately.  With the loss Pittsburgh
now has a record of 15-14.
