46,557 fans were treated to a fine game at Yankee Stadium as only one run
separated the combatants at game's end. The New York (AL) Yankees won by the
slimmest of margins, 6 to 5.

Joba Chamberlain(2-0) was credited with the win in a less than impressive
performance. He gave up 5 runs, 11 hits and 4 walks in 6 innings. Kansas
City threatened in the 9th but New York (AL) was able to put down the rally.

Dan Giese got the save, his 1st. Zack Greinke(1-4) was the loser. He was
knocked around by New York (AL), allowing 11 hits and 2 walks in 6 and 1/3
innings.

Lee Michaels was subdued after the ballgame, 'That one really hurts. If our
guys had simply played more fundamentally sound, we could have won that one.
That is what really ticks me off!'
