Center fielder Vernon Wells blasted 2 homeruns and had 6 RBI and A.J. Burnett
allowed John DePanicis to rest his bullpen, tossing a complete game as the
Toronto Bluejays crushed the Tampa Bay ballclub 12 to 2.

Wells really 'lit it up' for Toronto. He lifted one out of the park for a two
run home run in the 1st inning, lined a one-base hit which was good for two
runs in the 3rd inning and smashed a two-run homer (his 5th of the season) in
the 8th inning. Toronto rapped out 17 hits for the afternoon.

The winning pitcher was Burnett(2-4) who allowed 2 runs for the game. Edwin
Jackson(2-4) was the losing pitcher. He allowed a few too many baserunners
giving up 13 hits and 2 walks in 5 innings.

'They made a couple of mistakes and I took full advantage,' Wells said 'next
time I'm sure they'll pitch me tougher.'
